Zen Studios has announced that Zen Pinball 2 will be released on PSN for PS3 & Vita this Spring.
On the PS Blog, Zen Studios Managing Director Zsolt Kigyossy announced that Zen Pinball 2 will be making its way to PS3 and PlayStation Vita via PSN, with a May release currently being targeted. The game will be released with 26 different tables available on day one.
Zen Pinball 2 has an extra bonus for gamers who purchased Zen Pinball or Marvel Pinball. Existing tables in those games, including DLC tables, will be imported into Zen Pinball 2 via a free title update and receive: updated graphics and ball physics, new Trophies, in-game notifications, friend challenges, and the ability to post scores to Facebook. For those who don’t own previous Zen Studios pinball game releases, Zen Pinball 2 will be made available as a free platform with trials available for every table.
As for cross-platform purchases, Kigyossy says that all content purchased for Zen Pinball 2 on one version will be playable on the opposite version at no extra charge. Whether or not this applies to the actual game versions is unclear, as the content purchased for the game is referenced in an answer to a direct question about it in the comments. However, Kigyossy also says the following: “You can enjoy the game at home on the couch and then take it with you on the go without having to pay twice.”
Downloadable content packs for the game will be available for $9.99, whereas individual content will be available for $2.49-$2.99.
PlayStation Vita owners will be able to play the game by holding the system vertically in addition to horizontally.
As for Trophies, players will have to earn them separately in both versions.
