PSLS Service Announcement: Fighting Hackers

Dear reader,

Earlier today we were the subject of an attempted hack that aimed to put malware on our site. Luckily, we stopped the attack and there is absolutely no malware on our site.

The attack has been completely stopped, and we’ve disabled all uploads as an added security measure, so we are now completely clean (as many site scanning sites will say). It’s also important to note that passwords and user data were at no time even remotely at risk.

However, Google and Firefox may still show a warning for you, as it takes 2-3 days for them to update their warnings. If you see these warnings, please do not worry, PSLS is perfectly safe. In the words of Google:

Status of the latest badware review for this site: A review for this site has finished. The site was found clean. The badware warnings from web search are being removed. Please note that it can take some time for this change to propagate.

Sadly, that means for the next 2-3 days or so PSLS won’t show on Google News, and you may get a warning on Google search (there goes our Christmas bonus).

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and have taken multiple steps to improve our security.

As ever, thanks for reading PSLS, and we hope you continue to do so. If you have any questions, feel free to email us or leave a comment below.
