From a technical, unbiased, hardware perspective, the Vita easily trumps the 3DS and, obviously, the PSP. But wherever you are in the world, the 3DS massively outsells the Vita, as does the PSP in Japan. To try and promote one of the handheld’s simplest – and best – features, Sony has commissioned a new Resistance: Burning Skies ad that is all about dual analog sticks.

With the one-sticked opening featuring Nintendo-style music, the ad is a clear dig at ‘The House of Mario’, but will probably be more likely to attract PSP owners who were frustrated by the platform’s difficult controls.
Of course, if Sony really wants to give Vita sales a boost, they should stick this ad (as well as many more) on TV, as well as announcing a bunch of new games.
