Ubisoft Details Changes for Far Cry 3, No Malaria Pills Required

Far Cry 3 is mixing up the formula a bit this time around with some noticeable changes. The game’s producer, Mr. Dan Hay elaborated on the changes, giving gamers a good idea of what to expect.

Speaking to Kotaku, Hay explained that the friend system won’t be making return and neither will the need to pop malaria pills. “One of the things that we got consistent feedback on from Far Cry 2 was—how do I say it—They would prefer we look for another avenue. You can control your health,” he said.

Additionally, fire propagation will make a glorious return and a newly implemented fast-travel system will make traversing the environment much easier. You won’t have to worry about your guns rusting either, as that has been completely removed. Not only that, but when you kill and enemy, they stay dead. “When you own an area, you own the area. We have these places where you go in, wipe guys out and you own it,” Hay explained.

Those of you with a creative side will be pleased to know that the fully-featured in-game editor gives you the ability to create your own islands and maps. For more information on Far Cry 3, stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle as the game’s December 4th release slowly approaches.
