As Sony continues to slowly update its online library of PlayStation 2 Classics, the wait for Rockstar’s genre-defining Grand Theft Auto III grows increasingly unbearable. Fortunately, it looks like the wait is finally up, as a post on the official Hong Kong PlayStation site has the PSN re-release listed for a September 25th launch.
With Grand Theft Auto V on the not so distant horizon, it makes sense for Rockstar to push this game out well before the fifth proper entry. The game was expected to release last month, but was unfortunately delayed.
For those that are fan of Grand Theft Auto IV, a trip back to Liberty City will provide an interesting look at how far Rockstar has come in creating its fictional take on the Big Apple.
