It looks like the Modern Warfare franchise will continue on, as voice actor Bill Murray has reportedly confirmed the existence of a fourth proper installment.
According to This is Xbox (via GamesThirst), the voice actor behind Captain Price shared that he was currently working on the direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Apparently, ThisisXbox happened to be sitting next to Bill Murray on a plane, who told them:
Yeah, on Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4, I’m doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games…
Is Infinity Ward really working on yet another Modern Warfare game? Considering how popular the franchise is, it’s hard to imagine Activision parting with the instantly recognizable subheading first introduced by Call of Duty 4.
The real question is, will next year’s’ Call of Duty title release on current-gen platforms, next-gen consoles, or both? Job listings PSLS uncovered point towards Infinity Ward working on a next-gen title, so it certainly looks like the PS4 will have a Modern Warfare.
