EA on Medal of Honor: Warfighter: “We’re Disappointed With the Critical Reception”

We all know by now that Medal of Honor: Warfighter didn’t do very well with critics, including our very own 5.5 review which called it, among other things, “a sad story”.

EA is aware of all the reviews for their big holiday shooter, and Frank Gibeau of EA Labels told investors:

On Medal of Honor, we’re disappointed with the critical reception. Our internal testing and mock reviews indicated that the game is better than the actual score that we have right now, and we believe that it is.

Despite the actual reviews being lower than their mock reviews, he seemed unphased:

We are seeing some folks out there that just don’t like the game. We believe that it’s going to find an audience. It’s had a good track record over the weekend in the UK. We’re going to continue to support the game going forward with marketing and additional content.

I’d personally really like to know how they did their mock reviews, who conducted them, and what they thought of the game, because they were way off from the general consensus.
