Three PS1 Spyro Games Coming to the EU PSN Next Week

After an extremely long time of waiting, Sony has now announced that the first three Spyro games on PS1 will finally be coming to the EU PSN on December 12th. Full pricing information wasn’t given, though they did say that it will stay in line with other PS1 Classics.

Unfortunately, these won’t be the exact same games you may have played all those years ago, as these will be emulated versions of the NTSC code of the games, with them only appearing in English. You’ll be able to search for the games under their European names (Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer, Spyro: Year of the Dragon) in the PSN, but that’s about the only European thing about them.

The reason for this decision was explained by Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store team:

The EU versions just weren’t possible due to many, many issues arising with gameplay.

In a bit of good news, they will be PlayStation Vita compatible on Day 1, so you can take them with you wherever you go.
