Naughty Dog on The Last of Us: “It Doesn’t Matter if This Was on PS2, It’s Going to be a Good Game”

Getting away from Day 1 Digital and the lack of multiplayer news, Eric Pangilinan, Art Director at Naughty Dog, talked to Canada.com about The Last of Us.

In terms of launching their blockbuster five months before the PS4 comes out and whether it might not get enough attention on PS3, Eric said that “Naughty Dog has always released really good quality products regardless of what platform it’s on. I think the PS3 still has a lot of life in it.”

After calling The Last of Us “beautiful,” Eric continued his thoughts on the PlayStation 4 by saying, “I think if there was no PS4, we could take another stab at this and improve on the graphics more. I don’t think it really affects it because what you’re going to get, it doesn’t matter if this was on PS2, it’s going to be a good game.” Clarifying that statement, he added, “We wouldn’t be dependent on the technology. The whole story and the experience, the gameplay, it’s all very well made.”

When Naughty Dog does finally detail everything for The Last of Us’ multiplayer, and anything else they’ve been hiding from us, you can be sure we’ll let you know.
