Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on PlayStation Vita Paints to a June 18th Release Date (Update: It’s PSN Only, Costs $35.99)

Update: Well, the question of price has been solved as, although it seems to going retail in Europe, the North American version of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is going to only be sold through the PSN. This news comes from Cade Peterson, Community Manager of PlayStation Digital Platforms, who also said that it would cost $35.99 at launch.

Original Story: Making sure that the PlayStation Vita has a double dose of re-releases on the same day, Sony has announced that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on Vita will be releasing on June 18th, the exact same day as the Jak & Daxter Collection. A price wasn’t confirmed at this time, but retailers are suggesting it might cost $29.99.

In the PlayStation Vita version, you can expect two player co-op via ad-hoc, as well as touch screen support to control paint, thinner, and Oswald’s electric beam, and orientation-based controls for both the camera and while driving. Further touch screen usage allows you to give instructions to AI, select/drag/drop sketches, burst bubbles and projectiles, and scroll through all the menus.

Given that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two didn’t do so well last year on consoles, do you think this handheld version will be a success? Are you going to buy it? Let us know in the comments below.
