DICE Isn’t Working on “Future Projects or Expansions” Until Battlefield 4 Problems are Fixed

When DICE originally said that fixing all the problems with Battlefield 4 would take precedence over other projects until they were sure it “meets – and exceeds – your expectations,” it didn’t seem to have much weight behind it as the China Rising map pack became available yesterday to Premium members.

In a statement to IGN though, they detailed that China Rising was “already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4” and they “decided to fulfill our promise to deliver it this week.” Aside from this, a DICE representative reiterated their commitment to fixing the issues:

“[DICE is] not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4. We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game – it is absolutely our #1 priority.  The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game.”

“We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right.”

Although they didn’t go in to specifics about what this means for Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror’s Edge development, a rep did say, “We haven’t announced a ship date for Battlefront, but right now the team is focused on fixing Battlefield 4.”

Most recently, the PS4 patch set to fix the one-hit-kill bug was delayed for more testing, so stay tuned for more news on future updates as it arrives.
