Shuhei Yoshida: Option to Dim DualShock 4’s Light Bar “Would be Nice”, No Date for Red/Blue DualShock 4s in North America

Now that the craziness of the PlayStation 4 is behind him, Shuhei Yoshida has become much more active on his very popular Twitter account, replying to a lot of different people.

First up, one person had asked if the next PS4 system update would allow us to turn the DualShock 4’s light bar off entirely, but Shuhei shot that down by saying, “I doubt it.” Adding his personal opinion, Shuhei then said, “Option to dim it would be nice, I think.” Obviously this is just Shuhei airing out what he’d like to see and it isn’t confirmation of anything, though this does seem like it’s on their minds.

Sticking with the DualShock 4, Shuhei repeatedly told people that the Red and Blue DualShock 4 controllers would release in North America “soon”, but not before PS4 launch on November 15th. Unfortunately, we still haven’t seen them, and Shuhei simply said “no, sorry” when asked on December 7th if there was a North American release date for the colored controllers yet.

Moving to some happier news, Shuhei replied “I hope so” after someone wondered whether gifting games to friends would become an option on PS4 thanks to the connectivity features. As well, you don’t have to worry about corrupted save data being uploaded to the Cloud, with Shuhei saying, “[The PS4] won’t upload corrupted save data to Cloud.”

Finally, Shuhei revealed that his favorite PSX game is Crash Bandicoot 3.

How badly do you hope Sony gives you the option to dim the DualShock 4’s light bar? Let us know in the comments below.
