Details about the game itself are non-existent at this point, but Ubisoft has announced today that Tetris will be available for download on the PS4 and Xbox One at some point.
Henk B. Rogers, Managing Director of The Tetris Company, said, “We welcome Ubisoft to the Tetris family. I am 100% sure they will develop one of the best versions of the Tetris game ever.”
Ubisoft Co-Founder and CEO Yves Guillemot then added, “We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.”
2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the Tetris franchise, with the series as a whole selling hundreds of millions of units worldwide on over 50 different platforms since 1984.
