Atlus: ‘There Will NOT be a Demon’s Souls 2’; “Fighting” for Region-Free Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Following the North American release date details of Persona 5, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax earlier this week, Atlus PR Manager John Hardin took the time to answer a whole bunch of user questions on the PS Blog.

First up, he addressed the lack of information for these games in Europe:

No details about EU yet. We don’t have anything set up with Sega or any other EU distributor. But when we do get something set up, we’ll make it known! And yeah, hopefully [they’ll release] within [6 months of North America if we get a deal].

Next, Hardin shot down all rumors by saying, “PS Blog Exclusive: can 100% confirm there will NOT be a [Demon’s] Souls 2 :(.” Having a little fun after announcing this, he added, “Isn’t [Demon’s Souls 2] called Dark Souls 2 and being published by some other jerks? Like next month? (j/k about the jerks bit, <3 you, N/B!).”

Getting back to some serious news, Hardin talked about Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and how “we’ve been fighting for region-free, and that should happen.” He says the reason they’re fighting for region-free on Ultimax is because “I saw how well that went over last time.”

Adding how “Persona 5 is being kept SUPER under wraps right now,” Hardin revealed that “we’re localizing [all 3 games] into English, but if we can include Japanese is still TBD :(.”

You can also rest assured that Persona 4: Dancing all Night on PS Vita will have a physical release, alongside a digital one, with Hardin saying, “Vita is such an amazing system. Atlus loves it.”
