It may be April Fool’s Day, but April 1st is also a Tuesday, meaning that we’ll be getting new games and content in the North American PlayStation Store. One of those games is Mercenary Kings for PS4, which was just confirmed to be releasing on April 1st in North America and April 2nd in Europe.
The most interesting part of the announcement is how a price wasn’t mentioned anywhere for the PS4 (it’s $14.99 on Steam), hinting that Mercenary Kings might be the April 2014 PlayStation Plus free game on PS4. Secret Ponchos was originally scheduled to be the April free game on PS4, but since we haven’t heard anything new about the game in some time, it would make sense if Mercenary Kings took its place.

Over on their blog, Tribute Games revealed that a PS Vita, Wii, or release on other platforms is “always a possibility, but for the moment we’re concentrating on launching Mercenary Kings on Playstation 4, PC and Mac. We’ll let you know if we get onto a new platform.”
