Report: Assassin’s Creed: Comet Set in North America, Protagonist is a Templar

Before Assassin’s Creed: Unity was officially confirmed by Ubisoft, Kotaku posted a report about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title for PS4/Xbox One/PC, which as we know turned out to be true. Looking at the other Assassin’s Creed game set for release this year, Comet on PS3/Xbox 360, Kotaku has a new report for that one today.

Citing “people familiar with Comet,” the report says the game will be set in North America and stars Shay, a member of the Templars. Not only that, Comet will allow you to travel to New York, while also sailing up the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, with a source describing Comet as a cross between Assassin’s Creed III and the Freedom Cry DLC for Black Flag.

It also appears as though Haytham Kenway, Adewalé, and other characters from previous Assassin’s Creed games will be present in Comet.

Another report from French site GameBlog (translation) appears to detail Comet even further, but Kotaku says they haven’t been able to confirm any of GameBlog’s report, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

If Kotaku’s report is true, Comet isn’t currently planned for release on PS4 or Xbox One, in addition to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Ubisoft decided not to comment on the legitimacy of these Comet details, but a reveal (or at least a tease) should happen fairly soon.
