Rocksteady on Batman: Arkham Knight Delay: “Awesome Takes Time”

Now that some of the sting has (hopefully) gone away after hearing about Batman: Arkham Knight’s delay from October 2014 to some time in 2015, we can tell you of how Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn talked about the push from 2014 to 2015 with Kotaku back in May (it was under embargo until today), revealing that “awesome takes time:”

Now Batman: Arkham Knight is totally awesome. The thing about awesome, though, is awesome takes time. And totally awesome takes a lot of time. So in collaboration with our colleagues at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, we have decided to extend the development time of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Now, the very simple reason for doing this is to ensure we are delivering the awesome level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this, the final episode and the epic conclusion to the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy. The Dark Knight will face his ultimate challenge in Batman: Arkham Knight now to be released in 2015.

And don’t worry, there will still be some Batman to play through this year, as the LEGO Batman Twitter account confirmed that LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham isn’t delayed and releases in 2014.

Are you happy to wait longer for the awesome that will be Batman: Arkham Knight? Let us know in the comments below.
