Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world racing game, The Crew, will receive free content regularly in order to engage players, Creative Director Julian Gerighty has said.
This should give some reassurance to fans who were concerned about micro-transactions in the game. Players have the option of buying performance parts as opposed to waiting for them to unlock as the game progresses. This is a model Ubisoft used in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag last year as well, and later claimed that it worked well.
One of the things that I really want to do is to keep providing people with content after launch. So free content just to keep people engaged in the game. I really see this as your one-stop shop for action driving.
The Crew will launch on PlayStation 4 on November 11. You can read our E3 preview of the game here.
