PS Europe: No Upgrade Discount for The Last of Us PS4, Multiplayer Still Censored (Update)

Update:

Sid Shuman of the US PlayStation Blog confirmed that there’s “no upgrade path” for The Last of Us from PS3 to PS4 in North America either.

Original Story:

It’s been a busy few hours for Naughty Dog and The Last of Us Remastered, with PlayStation Nordic releasing the above TV spot for the game, which won’t spoil much of anything for you. If you want to see how this new trailer compares to the PS3 version, watch this GIF.

As well, we were given some official screenshots for The Last of Us on PS4:

While we don’t yet know if this extends to North America (they were working on it a few months back), Fred Dutton of the European PS Blog said, “There’s no upgrade discount I’m afraid,” meaning anyone who owns the PS3 version of The Last of Us will have to pay full price for The Last of Us PS4.

As well, Dutton confirmed that “[multiplayer] is the same as in the EU PS3 version – there have been no changes in this respect.” The PS3 version of the game had the violence reduced in Europe, so this means the PS4 version will be no different.

The Last of Us Remastered will be released on July 29 in North America and July 30/31 in Europe.
