Japanese Sales Chart: Hyrule Warriors Bests Monster Hunter PS Vita

You’d think the release of a Monster Hunter game for PlayStation Vita would top the charts, but instead, Yokai Watch 2 for Nintendo 3DS took top spot once again in Japan, moving nearly 120,000 units last week and bringing its overall total to 2.2 million. Yokai Watch 2 was then followed by the new release of Hyrule Warriors on Wii U, which debuted to just under 70,000.

As for that Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Frontier G Beginners Package, a Vita version of the online Monster Hunter, it moved 21,000 copies and placed in 6th.

Looking at hardware, the 3DS LL (XL) saw a big jump and retained first place, while the Vita and Wii U each saw upticks, placing 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Going a little further down, the regular 3DS also saw a rise and managed to beat the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 yet again, though the PS4 did move an extra 1,500 units compared to the previous week.
