Will Ferrell’s Gamer Challenge Encourages Gamers to Help Kids Fight Cancer

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell, who is probably best known for his roles in movies like Anchorman and Elf,  is calling upon gamers to donate money to charities that help children who are fighting cancer.

Called the SuperMegaBlastMax Gamer Challenge, Ferrell’s ultimate goal is to raise $375,000 through the crowdfunding site Indiegogo by October 12. The money will go to the nonprofit organizations Cancer for College and DonateGames.org, and donators will get a variety of gamer-related gifts based on how much money they give.

Donations start at $10, and go to up to $5,000. Some of the gifts include getting a bottle of Will Ferrell’s SuperMegaUVBlastMax Gamer’s Sunscreen for donating $50, or getting a SuperMegaUVBlastMax cowbell for donating $500, as well as many other prizes.

On top of that, donators also get entered into a drawing, with the winner getting to join Ferrell in San Francisco to play some video games with him in a live broadcast session on Twitch.
