It turns out Telltale’s original release window for The Walking Dead on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was dead-on, as the developer has confirmed that both Season 1 and Season 2 will be available this month on new-gen platforms.
Here’s the release dates for The Walking Dead Season 1 and Season 2 at retail:
The Walking Dead Season 1 + 400 Days (PS4, Xbox One)
- North America – October 14
- Europe – October 24
The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)
- North America – October 21
- Europe – October 24
The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS Vita)
- North America – November 4
Oddly, Telltale Games only mentioned that Season 2 would be available digitally (in addition to retail) for PS4 and Xbox One, so it’s possible Season 1 is a retail-only release. We’ll let you know if we hear anything differently.
Also, if you missed the news, “The Walking Dead WILL be returning for a third season… but which characters exactly will be returning? We’ll just have to wait to find out…”
