PS4 Firmware Update 2.02 Now Out, Improves System Software Stability

While Sony just rolled out firmware update 2.01 for the PlayStation 4 just a few days ago, it has now released another update today.

Yes, you read that right. PS4 firmware update 2.02 is now out and clocks in at just over 217MB. Contrary to firmware 2.01, this update is mandatory and will restrict you from connecting online unless you download it.

According to Sony’s official Twitter which announced that the firmware will be out “soon,” system update 2.02 will “will improve system software stability during use of some features, games, and apps,” which is what most people are looking for given how the big 2.00 update caused some unexpected issues.

Once Sony releases the official patch notes, we’ll update the post accordingly.

Have you downloaded the update? If so, have you noticed any new changes aside from stability fixes?
