Activision Responds to Destiny Non-DLC Owners Unable to Access Strikes

When The Dark Below expansion launched earlier today for Destiny, those who didn’t purchase the new content took to Reddit and NeoGAF to voice their complaints over not being able to access the Heroic or Nightfall Strike, which requires the new DLC.

Addressing the fact that people need to spend the $20 on The Dark Below in order to access the Strikes this week, Activision sent this statement to Game Informer:

All existing Strikes and maps are still accessible. Specific activities like nightfall will periodically feature expansion 1 content on the week the newest content is live. New public events, updated weapons and gear, new bounties, and of course the steady stream of updates are all available without additional cost to all players.

If Bungie themselves addresses this matter, we’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, Bungie Help said, “We’re investigating reports that some players have been unable to purchase The Dark Below from the Microsoft and Sony stores.”

Did you buy The Dark Below DLC today? Do you think it’s worth buying?
