When the PlayStation Store updated yesterday, the Plex app became available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 for everyone in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
If you’re unfamiliar, Plex is a service that organizes all of your personal media, wherever you keep it, so you can use it on any device. Plex then automatically adds movie posters, plot summaries, album covers, and descriptions to the content, while also giving you the ability to share your collection across all major platforms and devices as well as with your friends and family.
For the launch of Plex in North America, you’re only able to stream your videos, but the ability to stream your music and photos is going to be added shortly.
Free to all Plex Plass subscribers ($4.99/month, $39.99/year, $149.99/lifetime), the Plex app on PlayStation will eventually allow those without a Plex Pass to access the features for a fee.
