When the Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection was announced for release on the new-gen systems, a lot of people were wondering why the original Borderlands wasn’t getting the remaster treatment as well.
Addressing this question at PAX South, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford explained that he “doesn’t want to announce things anymore unless he knows for a fact they are going to happen,” adding that he “loves Borderlands 1” and “it’d be awesome to get that on next-gen sometime.”
However, it appears to be a wait-and-see mentality on a potential remaster, with Pitchford saying, “If The Handsome Collection is wildly successful, that increases the chances that that investment can be made.”
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection hits the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 24 in North America and March 27 in Europe for $59.99.
