Hidetaka Miyazaki: Dark Souls 3 Is the Franchise’s “Turning Point”

Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has said that Dark Souls 3 will be the franchise’s “turning point.” During an interview with GameSpot, Miyazaki was asked if he had thought about expanding the Souls series to other genres, to which he said:

Dark Souls is my life’s work. Everything I came up with for Dark Souls 3 is based on my personal preferences. However, Dark Souls 3 is also actually the turning point for the franchise.

He went on to say that he “definitely wants to bring the Miyazaki Touch” to other genres such as sci-fi.

Elsewhere in the interview, Miyazaki said that he plans to launch “several new projects” but he didn’t spill any details about them. “I do want to work on something new. I’m pleased to hear people are interested in seeing that,” he said.

Dark Souls 3 is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016. For more on the game, click here.
