Revealing just how “well over” 25 million PlayStation 4 sales are, Sony’s latest financial report for the second quarter ending September 30, 2015 shows that the company has sold 29.3 million PS4s worldwide.

Only reporting PS4 sales figures (they say “sales” instead of shipped), they show four million PS4s sold during the quarter, which is up from 3.3 million in the same quarter last year.

With the latest success, Sony has revised their Fiscal Year 15 predictions for the PS4 from 16.5 million to 17.5 million, meaning they expect to be around 40 million by April 2016. Additionally, Sony expects an increase of PS4 software sales the rest of the year, with the recent price drop expected to help as well.

Looking at the entire Game & Network Services division, sales increased by 16.5% to 360.7 billion yen ($3 billion USD), with Sony saying, “This significant increase was primarily due to an increase in PS4 software sales as well as the impact of foreign exchange rates, partially offset by a decrease in PlayStation 3 software sales.”
