Marking the first time that a Call of Duty game has launched on Friday in the UK since 2009, Black Ops 3 released last week and is the 14th biggest title of all time in terms of revenue. Compared to other games in the series, Black Ops 3 sees the 7th highest week 1 in revenue, though the other games benefited from three extra days on the market.
Looking at the platform breakdown, a massive 91% of sales were on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, compared to 68% for last year’s Advanced Warfare. According to GfK Chart-Track data obtained by VideoGamer, 48% of sales were on PS4, with 43% on Xbox One.
As for another new release, Need for Speed debuted in third place and saw 67% of sales on PS4, while the Xbox One version was at 33%.
