After the Vote to Play “debacle” that saw Broforce become a March 2016 PlayStation Plus free game, Curve Digital and developer RageSquid have confirmed that Action Henk will release on March 8 for PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe, with an Xbox One release on March 4.
Priced at $14.99/€14.99/£11.99, Action Henk will have a 30% discount on both platforms for the two weeks following launch.
“PlayStation Plus subscribers could have received the game for free had they not foolishly voted for Broforce in the recent Vote To Play promotion,” Curve Digital joked.
A speed-running platformer, Action Henk includes more than 70 courses, bonus stages, over 30 characters, boss challenges, online leaderboards, and a new local multiplayer mode where you can race solo or against your friends.
Curve Digital Publishing Director Simon Byron said:
Action Henk exemplifies the ‘just one more go’ twitch gameplay. A sense of speed and the joy of butt-sliding combine to make this one of the most exhilarating platformers around. The new multiplayer mode is a truly brilliant addition to the single-player campaign – I can’t wait to see console players setting new records.
No details were given today for the previously announced PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of Action Henk.
