Housemarque has released a new Alienation behind-the-scenes video (above) ahead of the game’s launch, showcasing the art of explosions. The video also takes a look at the game’s inception and progression.
In addition to the above, the developer took to the PlayStation blog to shed more light on Alienation‘s weapons and loot. We’re told that each of the four types of “Alien Cores” can be upgraded up to five times with each one “activating a different effect when set in one of the slots the weapons feature.” Housemarque’s Tommaso de Benetti wrote:
On top of that, loot includes metals of different rarities from “Stock” to “Legendary”. Collecting these metals allow you to “reroll” some stats of the weapon you use them on, changing your chances during the next shooting session.
Last but not least, some weapons enjoy special perks, activated when Cores unlock them. For example, these perks can add the chance of a lightning chain between enemies when bullets hit them and certain conditions are met.
Alienation is out on Tuesday, April 26, for the PlayStation 4.
