Shadow of the Beast on PS4 Includes the Original Game as an Unlockable Bonus

When Shadow of the Beast releases on May 17 for PlayStation 4, you’ll have the ability unlock a full emulation of the original Amiga game.

Matt Birch from developer Heavy Spectrum didn’t reveal how you’ll be able to unlock the original, but he did say, “It’s something of a notoriously difficult game, so we’ve added an infinite lives mode and some other helpful features that should give you a fighting chance of reaching the end — these can be disabled for anyone brave enough!”

Along with a dynamic soundtrack from Ian Livingstone that gives each level its own theme, you’ll be able to unlock the original David Whittaker score for Shadow of the Beast by earning enough Mana within the game. You can also unlock a super hi-res scan of the original painting used for the box art by playing “the game well enough.”

There’s more unannounced easter eggs in Shadow of the Beast, and Birch says more details about the game will be revealed in the future.

Will you be getting Shadow of the Beast?
