PES 2015 Set to Go Offline This Coming August

Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 servers will go offline this coming August. PES fans who want to continue playing online will need to purchase a more recent PES game, or opt for PES 2017, which is set to hit retail this September.

Here’s the full announcement regarding the PES 2015 server termination:

The online service for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 will be terminated on 25/08/2016 4:00 (UTC). We would like to thank you for your loyal support.

Please note that all of your myClub coins or GP within the game will be invalidated at the same time as the termination of Online service. If you still have left myClub coins or GP, please spend them until the termination of Online service.

We would also like to thank you for your continued support of the PES series titles.

In case you’re wondering and too lazy to search for it yourself, 4:00 UTC translates to 12 noon ET or 9 a.m. PT.  While it’s a bummer to see a game lose its online functionality, it’s almost a given for sports games. I mean, those playing it have most likely bought PES 2016 and will be buying PES 2017 the moment it drops, so this really shouldn’t be that big of an issue, right?
