Bandai Namco Will Announce a New IP at gamescom 2016

At gamescom 2016 next month, Bandai Namco will be announcing a new IP for release in the West.

“A new IP published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe for a western audience will be revealed at gamescom 2016,” they said in a press release.

Additionally, Bandai Namco’s gamescom 2016 lineup will include playable versions of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Tekken 7 at their booth in Hall 8. The Xenoverse 2 demo will let you take part in battles and explore the new hub city, while the Tekken 7 demo will let you “join the fight and experience the best looking Tekken game ever.”

Bandai Namco is also planning competitions, tournaments, signing sessions and lotteries, and attendees can view interviews and presentations.

Hervé Hoerdt, VP of IP Strategy and Marketing & PR at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, said:

This year, again the world’s largest gaming fair will be home to hundreds of thousands gaming fans who gather in Cologne. We are bringing 3 very interesting projects this year. We are particularly pleased to be able to fulfill the desires of fighting game fans as they get the chance to experience the most impressive Tekken-game to date through near photo-realistic graphics with Tekken 7. We’re also showing off Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 which with all its new features is anticipated to be one of our biggest games to date! Lastly, we will reveal a brand new project and we are very excited!

gamescom 2016 runs from August 18 to 21, but won’t feature press conferences from Sony, EA, or Microsoft.
