PlayStation Showcase at PSX 2016 Will “Feature Announcements and a Sneak Peek at the Future”

PlayStation Experience 2016 will begin at 10am PT/1pm ET on Saturday, December 3 with the PlayStation Showcase. In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony’s Sid Shuman said it will “feature announcements and a sneak peek at the future of PlayStation.”

If you aren’t attending this year’s PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, the show will be streamed live through YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live Video, and Live.PlayStation.com. By watching through Live.PlayStation.com and signing in with your PSN ID, you can unlock bonus content by watching the Showcase, panels, and PlayStation LiveCast game demos.

If you are attending PSX, the new Experience PlayStation 2016 app for iOS and Android will be available for free beginning on December 3. It will allow you to plan your weekend with a comprehensive list of activities sorted by date and time, sync your PSN ID with your badge to unlock exclusive PlayStation Store items by completing objectives, and track which exhibitors you’ve visited. Badge pickup starts on Friday at 12pm at the Anaheim Convention Center Hall B and C.

In addition the Showcase, playable games, and panels, PlayStation Experience 2016 will include the Capcom Cup, Call of Duty World League: PSX Invitational, and meet and greets with Tim Schafer, Yoshinori Ono, John Gonzalez, Yasuyuki Oda, Masachika Kawata, and others.

PlayStation Experience is just one of the big events this week, with The Game Awards taking place on Thursday, December 1. So far, we know it will include new videos from Mass Effect Andromeda, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, and Prey. Unless they’re saving it for Thursday, the nominees sale should start tomorrow.
