Tekken 7 Release Date Being Announced Next Week

Tekken 7 Release Date

Sometimes before announcements can be made, there must be an announcement for that announcement. It doesn’t matter whether or not people enjoy these sort of pre-announcements are fun, as they don’t seem to be going away any time soon. In fact, earlier today Bandai Namco went to twitter to announce that the Tekken 7 release date will be revealed “next week.”

Here’s the full tweet from the company:

While it’s not even a firm date or time for when the release date announcement is coming (do better, please), it’s at least an indication that the wait won’t be much longer for the highly anticipated fighting game to finally make its way to PlayStation 4. The game is currently expected to release in 2017, but we should get a much more specific release window in the next seven or so days.

The Unreal Engine powered fighting game originally released in March 2015 in Japanese arcades. Since then, the game received a major update called Fated Retribution in July of 2016. The fighting game currently features 36 playable characters, including Akuma from Street Fighter. It may not be the full blown Tekken X Street Fighter game, but at least it’s something, right? Tekken 7: Fated Retribution is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Let us know in the comments below if you think announcing future announcements is a good thing or if publishers should stop doing it.
