Destiny 2 Releases on September 8 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Bungie and Activision have officially announced that Destiny 2 is releasing on September 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The gameplay reveal livestream for Destiny 2 will happen on May 18, and the Open Beta will begin this summer. By pre-ordering Destiny 2, you’ll receive early access to the beta.

Here’s the description for Destiny 2:

From the makers of the acclaimed hit game Destiny, comes the much-anticipated sequel. An action shooter that takes you on an epic journey across the solar system.

Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.

Bungie adds:

This is a new beginning for every player. We know you have questions about the worlds you’ll explore, the enemies you’ll fight, the powers you’ll master, and (as Cayde promised) the loot you’ll earn. We’ll also show off the exclusive content you’ve come to expect on PlayStation. All will be answered in the weeks and months to come. It should be a hell of a ride.

Destiny 2 will require 68GB of storage at launch. It also requires an internet connection.
