Just Cause and Mad Max developer, Avalanche Studios, has announced that it’s teaming up with a leading Nordic entertainment company, Nordisk Film, to “accelerate its growth in the international gaming market.”
In a press release, Avalanche revealed that Nordisk Film will invest over USD 10 million for a minority ownership share in the developer. “We are investing heavily in gaming and look forward to working with Avalanche Studios on bringing the company to the next level,” said Nordisk CEO Allan Mathson Hansen. “Gaming fits our profile very well. We are used to working with creative people, commercializing creative products and developing IPs.”
Avalanche’s CEO Pim Holfve added that this partnership will help the studio to develop and self-publish more high quality games. “With a solid background from a range of creative industries, they understand our business well and have a matching company culture,” he said of Nordisk.
Founded in 2003, Avalanche Studios currently employs over 270 people between its offices in Sweden and New York.
