In case you didn’t know, Destiny 2 was revealed yesterday with actual gameplay. While Bungie did took to the stage to announce some of the new gameplay features that will be in the sequel, we don’t know a whole lot other than what we’ve seen.
In this edition of Now Loading, the staff weighs in on what we think of Destiny 2 so far. Bear in mind that aside from Chandler who attended the event, no one from staff has played a second of it. Nonetheless, we did see quite a handful of gameplay, so we’re basing our opinions on that. What did we think? Check the gallery below to find out.
What did you think of the Destiny 2 reveal? Did it live up to the hype? Too much like the first one? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Stay tuned for more Destiny 2 coverage here on PlayStation LifeStyle. We have a hands-on preview, raw gameplay and more set to hit the site very soon.

As someone who didn't care about the first one, the videos for this actually have me slightly interested.

Honestly? I was a bit underwhelmed. I mean, we didn't see everything and I'm hopeful Bungie has a few tricks they've yet to reveal, but based on what we saw, it looked like a Destiny expansion more than anything.
Having said that, I kind of feel that Destiny 2 might be what Bungie really envisioned Destiny 1 to be. There's a lot of quality of life fixes, which should go a long way.I'll wait til we know more before I start shouting "Destiny 1.5!" but I hope Bungie knocks us off of our feet with the beta. -

I came away with the feeling of "was that it?" I'm going to guess that wasn't the desired reaction of Bungie and Activision. The game looks totally fine, which isn't surprising as for all of Destiny's faults it always featured satisfying gunplay, but I kept waiting for a gameplay announcement that would truly justify the sequel. That never happened, and while they announced a few nice additions (I'm looking forward to what they're doing with clans), I can't say I'm more excited now for Destiny 2 than I was previously. If anything, I'm less excited since now I know how predictable the sequel is going to be.

I came away disappointed. The two biggest changes I wanted to see were four player fireteams and 60fps support in multiplayer. Neither are happening on PS4.
I hope the beta can make me more confident in the release, and I'm certainly going to give it a go. Though I really did want 60fps PVP, since Destiny feels clunky compared to the smoothness of Call of Duty, Overwatch, Titanfall, Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront, Doom, Rainbow Six, and Killzone...

The original Destiny didn't grab me and the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal didn't do much to change that.

I'll be posting a lot more of my thoughts on this soon, but the Destiny 2 reveal was about proving that it was still Destiny. Everything we saw and played was to reassure fans that their game isn't changing much, except for the things the community has been requesting. I'm both excited and nervous by this. On the one hand, I've gotten 1300 hours out if Destiny, so it must do something right. On the other, how much needs to change to really be considered sequel material? I'm hoping that some of the larger play areas, bigger social spaces, and more involved missions will really prove why Destiny 2 is the sequel to Bungie's hit shared world shooter. Destiny 2 simply looks great because Destiny was great.
