The Castlevania Animated Series Is Now Streaming on Netflix

The first season of the Castlevania animated television show is now available to stream on Netflix. The show, which stars voice talent such as Richard Armitage, James Callis and Graham McTavish, lasts four episodes. That means it’s easily watchable in a single sitting, although subscribers might want to spread the episodes out if they don’t want the vampire killing to be over in just one night.

Here’s the full synopsis of the series from the Netflix website:

A vampire hunter fights to saved a besieged city from an army of otherworldly beasts controlled by Dracula himself. Inspired by the classic video games.

The debut episode of the series is called “Witchbottle,” which stars “a headstrong young woman” that is searching for forbidden knowledge (that can’t lead to anything good). The story continues from there in the three subsequent episodes, which all average out to be 23 minutes long. The other episode titles are “Necropolis,” “Labyrinth,” and “Monument.”

Early buzz online is mostly positive. Some of the animation has been singled out for praise. Check out a particularly cool looking sequence below to see it for yourself.
