Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 is set to release September 14 for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and last-gen consoles.
Konami has announced that the legendary England midfielder David Beckham will appear as a playable character in Pro Evolution Soccer 2018. Five versions of Beckham will appear in the game, with each representing a different point in his career. From his early days in England to reaching the peak of the sport internationally, fans will be able to play as the version of Beckham they best remember.
“It’s a great honour to join the roster of legends that work with KONAMI as PES Ambassadors,” remarked David Beckham. “I look forward to seeing my career represented in this fantastic game, and working with such a talented team of people who obviously love football as much as I do.”
“David Beckham is rightfully a legend within the game, and we are delighted to welcome him to the PES family,” said Konami’s Senior Director Brand & Business Development Jonas Lygaard. “His fantastic career and all he has achieved will be faithfully recreated for those playing PES 2018, and we look forward to working with him as we unite to promote PES 2018 as the definitive football title.”

Konami isn’t content with Pro Evolution Soccer merely being great. They’re looking to make PES into a FIFA competitor, and to do that they’ll have to offer up a number of great modes. They seem to be on the right track, even if topping FIFA will take years if not decades to do, and fans will ultimately be the victors of both franchises being competitive.
