As Life Is Strange: Before the Storm‘s trophies went live on PSNProfiles, folks over at Push Square noticed something odd. One of the game’s Gold trophies, which counts towards the ultimate Platinum, can only be obtained by completing the bonus chapter, Farewell. Unfortunately, this bonus chapter is exclusive to the game’s Deluxe Edition. In other words, those chasing Before the Storm‘s Platinum trophy would have to fork out some extra cash to do so.
This understandably hasn’t gone down well with fans but the good news is that Square Enix has been made aware of the issue and is now working with developer Deck Nine to rectify it. As soon as Push Square’s story made rounds online, the publisher issued the following statement:
This was a mistake on our side and not our intention to gate the Platinum Trophy via the optional Bonus Episode in the Deluxe SKU. We’ve already started speaking to the first parties about rectifying this.
All’s well that ends well!
