Bayonetta and Vanquish PS4 Ports Spotted on Czech Retailer

Everyone’s favorite Czech retailer Alza has listed a double pack of Bayonetta and Vanquish for PS4 and Xbox One. I can’t say I’m overly familiar with the site (so I can’t vouch for the authenticity of the listing), but they detail their history of over 20 years over at their about page and have a popular iOS app as well. The listing shouldn’t come as a total surprise, as both titles were recently ported to PC. Thus, current-gen ports of the better playing and looking versions would make a lot of sense. There’s an English version of the listing as well, but it has been auto-translated by the site so it’s not especially helpful. Either way, both titles are supposedly releasing on November 23.

A double pack would make sense as neither title lit up the sales charts the first time around, and both action titles were developed by PlatinumGames. A physical release of each game individually might not make total sense, but a double pack could help guarantee additional sales while reducing production costs. Either way, we should find out if the listing is real or not sooner rather than later.

Here’s how we summed up Vanquish back when it released in 2010:

Vanquish isn’t perfect. It has story problems, it’s not as long as it could be (roughly 6 hours for me), and there is no multiplayer to speak of. The combat, mechanics and action are so innovative, and are done so well it’s easily one of the best games to grace consoles this year. The action in Mikami-san’s title plays out like a cross between John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow, Paul Verhoeven’s Robocop and Kazuaki Kiriya’s Casshern all rolled in to one. The new genre of Japan-style action games with Western-style shooting has been born; if you’re a fan of third-person shooters, over the top action, and enjoy a good challenge Vanquish is an excellent fit.
