Hokuto ga Gotoku characters - Kenshiro

SEGA has today revealed designs of three more Hokuto ga Gotoku characters that come from the original Fist of the North Star manga.

For those who haven’t followed this game’s news, Hokuto ga Gotoku is a Fist of the North Star action adventure game developed by SEGA’s Yakuza Studio for PlayStation 4. The player will get to control Fist of the North Star‘s protagonist Kenshiro (pictured above) in a brand-new story taking place in a game-original city called Eden.

Without further ado, let’s check out the characters newly introduced today.

Hokuto ga Gotoku characters - Toki

Toki is the second eldest of the four siblings that learn the Hokuto Shinken technique, which means he is also Kenshiro’s senior apprentice, and they had been training together since childhood.

He used to excel in all three qualities of a fighter: Heart, technique, and physique. However, during the Nuclear War, he ended up getting exposed to radiation from nuclear explosions, which caused him to have an incurable disease and renounce his status as the heir to Hokuto Shinken. Toki uses his remaining lifespan to use the technique he learned to heal people as a doctor.

In Hokuto ga Gotoku, Toki will be voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya, who in the Yakuza series had voiced Osamu Kashiwagi.

Hokuto ga Gotoku characters - Rei

Rei is the user of Nanto Suichoken, one of the 108 branches of Nanto Seiken which is also said to be the most elegant technique of them all. He goes out on a journey to find his younger sister who was abducted by a man with seven scars on his chest. In Hokuto ga Gotoku‘s original story, Rei will get to visit Eden after listening to a credible information.

Rei in this game will be voiced by the popular Japanese voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa, who voiced one of Yakuza 5‘s protagonists Tatsuo Shinada.

Hokuto ga Gotoku characters - Airi

Airi is Rei’s younger sister who, just before her wedding ceremony, was kidnapped by a man with seven scars on his chest. She falls into despair in the harsh conditions of her captivity, and she would eventually lose her sight because of it.

In this game, Airi will be voiced by the well-known voice actress Ryoko Shiraishi, who had also voiced Mai Sanada, one of Haruka’s rivals in Yakuza 5.

Hokuto ga Gotoku will be released for PlayStation 4 in Japan sometime in 2018. Although it won’t have a playable demo at next week’s Tokyo Game Show 2017, there will still be a stage event at SEGA’s booth where new information on the game will be announced.
