Today, SEGA released a handful of new screenshots from the upcoming Sonic Forces, giving us a better look at the customizable Hero Character that the game will feature, as well as a sneak peek at a brand new weapon, the Drill Wispon.
As some fans may know, Sonic Forces will allow players to create their own customizable Hero Character to put into the game. The new weapon introduced – the Drill Wispon – is essentially an evolution of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors, doubling as both an offensive ability and a way to progress through a level. Read more on the Wispon below, courtesy of SEGA:
Wispons are an evolution of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors and double as both offensive abilities and as a way to platform through levels quickly. In Sonic Forces, players equip their Hero Character with one of a variety of powerful Wispons, including the Drill Wispon, which allows players to drill dash on the ground to quickly traverse stages and climb walls. Players can also attack enemies using the Drill Wispon by charging and launching a drill punch to smash through and destroy enemies.
Sonic Forces is set to launch worldwide on November 7 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
