Bandai Namco has published the first official trailer for their upcoming Gintama game, Gintama Rumble, that will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on January 18, 2018, in Japan.
Gintama Rumble was initially teased as the last Gintama game project. It will have a Samurai Rumble Action genre, and as you can see in the trailer, it has a gameplay that is very similar to Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games. You can also see some gameplay footages of the playable characters confirmed so far: Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, Kagura, Katsura Kotaro, and Takasugi Shinsuke.
Meanwhile, the official site for Gintama Rumble has also been grand opened, which confirms that Okada Nizo will just be an NPC boss character. There will be also NPC assist characters that will give support attacks, such as Elizabeth.
Gintama Rumble will have a limited AV (Anime sound & Voice) Edition that will contain 18 theme songs from the Gintama anime show as in-game BGMs as well as 60 exclusive catchphrase quotes used for Awakening Rumble attacks.
Pre-ordering the game will give a bonus drama CD starring Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura. And by buying an early copy of the game, players will receive a DLC code that lets them use the Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon, as voted by fans in a prior public poll.
Bandai Namco’s SEA branch has also announced that Gintama Rumble will receive an English localization only on PlayStation 4 for the Southeast Asian countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines . But as of this writing, they have not followed up yet with the release date of the Asian English version.
