Nobunagas Ambition Taishi opening

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi’s Opening is a Slice of Life

Koei Tecmo has revealed the opening video for Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi, and it’s a bit unusual. Instead of showing off the strategy title’s gameplay, or some high-tension action scenes, but instead a day in the life of Oda Nobunaga. It’s quite the change of pace from the average opening!

If you’re a bit more interested in the actual gameplay of Taishi, you’ll want to check out this trailer! We also have more details on the gameplay:

This Japanese trailer starts off with some in-game movies and goes on to show portraits of famous Sengoku era figures such as Oda Nobunaga, Ii Naotora, and Sanada Yukimura. It also shows new gameplay features of enacting domestic developments like improving farms and commerce in the player’s fief, recruiting troops from common villagers to the more formal ashigaru soldiers, enacting diplomacy with other warlords, deciding faction policies, and most importantly waging wars to expand the player’s territories.

As the newest iteration of the series, Taishi is notable for employing futuristic-looking maps when enacting policies and giving orders during wars. They are also improving the 3D Japan map introduced in the prequel to be even more detailed, especially on the castle locations like Azuchi Castle. And finally, players will be able to add up to 2,000 created officers into their own copy of Taishi.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi releases tomorrow, November 30, on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan. A Western localization has not yet been announced.
