The indie game scene is filled with intriguing titles, and another candidate with potential may be joining its ranks. Damnview: Built From Nothing has been announced. This is a sandbox simulation where players head into an urban environment and attempt to work their way through the system. Can people survive? Will they be kicked out of an uncaring and ruthless society? (Hey. I think that happened to me a couple of times, actually!)
Let’s take a look at the Damnview: Built From Nothing announcement trailer.
In Damnview: Built From Nothing, capitalism reigns. Can you find a better future and rage against the machine? Or could you be chewed up and spit out? As you try to go through this game, which seems like it could be a simulation of my life, you have to think about what you would be willing to do to not only survive, but also succeed. Will you be sharp, quick, and tougher or just give up and not care? The impact you leave on the city streets depends entirely on you and your decisions. The people you meet, help, or hurt can all alter the city..
Check out the main features in Damnview: Built From Nothing, taken from the official press release:
- A vast, detailed sandbox city to explore—work your way up the class ladder as you forge relationships within the city.
- Discover a world teeming with interesting characters from all walks of life—each character has its own story and purposes, and each will lead you down a different path.
- Take on interesting jobs that present even more opportunities. Some good, some bad—the choice is yours. Drive a cab, work in a video store or a laundry, smuggle all sorts of goods or sell drugs in the alleyways. In this life you must do whatever you need to survive.
- Manage your income, build your home from nothing and try to maintain or improve your living situation and lifestyle—but be wary, breaking out of society’s recurrent loops and defeating the capitalistic machine might cost you everything you have.
Damnview: Built From Nothing will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC sometime during 2019.
