Metal Gear Solid Intro Unreal

Metal Gear Solid Intro Looks Delicious in Unreal Engine 4

Believe it or not, it has been two decades since Konami released their classic, Metal Gear Solid. The game’s iconic introduction sequence is still very much a part of unforgettable gaming history as we get our first look at Solid Snake infiltrating Shadow Moses. Even now, it feels cool to check out that intro. Today, we’ve discovered that an ambitious MGS fan actually went back and reworked the complete introduction sequence in the Unreal Engine 4.

The old version is available for your viewing pleasure to compare the two. Meanwhile, the Metal Gear Solid intro Unreal Engine version created by Erasmus Brosdau can be seen below as well, with redone visuals and polished audio.

First off, you can watch the introduction from the classic game:

It’s interesting what can be accomplished when someone has the patience and the skills. Bearing all this in mind, it would be unbelievably cool if this tradition continues. It would mean we’ll get to see cinematics and intro sequences from other classics. Personally, I’d like to see intros from Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 get the same treatment.

The last iteration in the MGS series was Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Metal Gear Survive notwithstanding). Although the creators of the game have not issued any MGS V updates for quite some time, they did released an update recently which allows gamers to play as the enticing character Quiet.

Meanwhile, the creator of the game, Hideo Kojima, had a falling out with Konami and is not involved with the Metal Gear Solid series any more. Kojima is now an independent video game designer, fully devoted to his next project, Death Stranding.
