We all knew Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to be a meaty game, but maybe we weren’t quite expecting this. A user on the PS4 Subreddit nabbed a picture of what is supposedly the Japanese box art for Red Dead Redemption 2, and it reveals some interesting bits of information. The most telling information, however, is the number of discs included in the package. If this box art is legit, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shipping with two discs at launch.
The box art shows the massive 105GB install, which may account for the two discs. Rockstar has yet to comment on anything relating to this, so we don’t know if there will be two discs or why two might be provided. It’s possible that Rockstar may be taking a similar approach to Grand Theft Auto V, where one disc is used for the installation and the other to actually play the game. Again, considering the amount of space needed to play Red Dead Redemption 2, a separate install disc may be necessary.
Box Art Suggests Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Release Will Have 2 Discs
Rockstar Games recently came under fire for Co-Founder Dan Houser’s comments about working “100-hour weeks” during the development of Red Dead Redemption 2. He later gave a statement clarifying his remarks, but it still didn’t sit well with many.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
